EnCello is a platform that combines performances with innovative music education — creating a space where professional musicians and students can collaborate, learn, and grow together.

Our Story

It started with a simple observation: teachers' recitals and students' concerts rarely shared the same stage. Most orchestras ask for an audition — a bar many young cellists haven't reached yet. Some never get the chance to feel what it's like to play with others at all.

EnCello was created to close that gap. Children, adults, retirees — everyone shares the same stage, side by side, from the early stage. That's how EnCello began — one shared stage, built for everyone to grow on together.

How We Work

Most young cellists reach a point where practicing alone isn't enough — but they're not yet ready to audition for an orchestra either.

EnCello is the bridge: mentorship from working musicians, paired with real performance opportunities.

Individual Student

  • Counting feels pointless until you rehearse with a group and it clicks

  • Solo drills, lose their spark, and many students just quit

  • It feels like nitpicking — until you're on stage, and every note, every beat, suddenly matters.

Learn by performing

  • Cello section leaders from orchestras across the GTA coach our students — each with their own style, so students learn from a range of musical perspectives through real ensemble playing.

  • Two rehearsals and a dress rehearsal lead up to each performance.

    Students prepare individually with their teachers, then rehearse together — building friendships along the way.

  • No audition to be excluded — only a place to grow. Every level plays a real role in an encouraging, judgment-free environment.

  • Every piece is arranged to fit the players in the room, so no one is stuck with a part that doesn't fit — and no one is left out.

We actively seek out performance opportunities — churches, retirement homes, schools, hospitals, community arts festivals— because we believe music belongs in the community, not behind closed doors.

Students are more than performers

Behind every concert, students take on roles as poster designers, emcees, section vice principals, and peer mentors — building leadership, public speaking, and teaching skills along the way.

What’s Next

Looking ahead, we hope to develop more ensemble-based programs and invite seniors to join in as a group — both performing and learning— so our musical community can span generations.
