What is EnCello?

We believe music is best shared in an inclusive, friendly, and courageous environment.

Beyond the classroom, EnCello Toronto is an open platform where professional musicians and aspiring apprentices perform as one. It is not just about the notes — it is about connecting people, creating opportunities, and building community.

Wherever people gather — schools, hospitals, retirement homes, concert halls — that's where we bring our music. Here, every student is a co-creator. Whether you are leading a section, designing a poster, or performing side-by-side with a mentor, you are an essential part of this ensemble.

Growth chronicles

Stories from our students

- “I Used To Hate Performing”

For years, she played only to follow in her sister’s footsteps. It wasn’t until EnCello’s community concerts that she finally felt the impact of her music on others. She discovered the purpose behind practicing, performing, and leading. Now, she no longer stands in anyone’s shadow; she leads the section with contagious, newfound confidence and has finally found her ‘why’.

- “It’s hard to follow where people were playing"

In her first year, she was overwhelmed by the notes and terrified of falling behind. Instead of pressure, EnCello offered patience; we simply paired her with a 'big girl' to play side-by-side with her.

The next year, she stepped into that same role— offering the same support to a friend that once gave her the courage to stay.

EnCello unites Toronto’s cellists

We bridge private lessons and the orchestral stage through side-by-side mentorship, giving students real-world experience and musicians a platform to thrive. We don't just teach; we perform, lead, and grow together. Every cellist is a vital part of our story.

Our concerts are open to everyone. Whether you’re a student ready to join, a parent curious about our program, or simply someone who loves music - there’s a seat for you.
